The GIZ-funded Private Sector Development & Employment Promotion (PSD) project focuses on developing the private sector and creating jobs in the Iraq agricultural sector. ZOA is implementing part of this project, working towards a sustainable recovery of the Iraqi economy through development of agribusiness.

Promoting employment and growth in agrotourism

ZOA is offering agrotourism trainings accelerate agricultural tourism in the Kurdish Region of Iraq. By participating in our training sessions, participants will gain knowledge and skills to develop profitable businesses and improve their livelihoods.

There are two categories of training:

  • Agrotourism Innovation Coaches

These trainings target people already working in the tourism sector. Trainings will equip them with skills to train and mentor new agrotourism businesses. Participants may have opportunities to work within the project after training to deliver training and coaching to agrotourism businesses.

  • Potential Agrotourism Businesses

These trainings target people with potential to develop successful agrotourism businesses. For example, farmers, tourism operators, or rural entrepreneurs are all eligible to apply. In addition to training participants will also receive ongoing coaching support from the project to develop their business.
