2023: impact in a challenging year
The year 2023 was unprecedented for everyone. But even in challenging circumstances, ZOA was able to say: we are here. We are grateful for the work that we could do to support more than 1.5 million people affected by violent conflicts and natural disasters.
The number of disaster response campaigns launched by ZOA was greater than ever in 2023. In February, Syria and Turkey were hit by devastating earthquakes. Morocco was struck by an earthquake in September and Libya was confronted with catastrophic floods. ZOA responded immediately to all these situations by providing emergency assistance. In October we launched a fundraising campaign to help victims of the conflict in Gaza.
Conflicts perpetuated and left many people in desperate need for help in countries like DR Congo, Yemen and Sudan. It is our desire to stay faithful to these people who have been suffering for years. This would not have been possible without the support of our donors and our loyal constituency.
