By working alongside communities, we ensure people’s participation in rebuilding their lives and making them self-sufficient, living peacefully together in stable communities. To accomplish our mission, we work with a wide variety of donors and partners. Where possible, we enter into
partnerships with diverse actors ranging from community based organisations and NGOs to governments and companies.
Discover our mission and vision
About 82,4 million people are forcibly displaced, within or across the borders of their country. They often have to survive in harsh conditions. Those who have the courage to return home find themselves in a devastated environment. We reach out to people in need, irrespective of their race, ethnicity, religion or gender. We invite you to join us in our mission.
Our Mission
We are here from relief to recovery
We support people who suffer because of armed conflict or natural disasters, by helping them to rebuild their homes and their livelihoods and to live peacefully together in stable communities.
Our Vision
We dream of peace, reconciliation and hope
We believe that God calls us to bring peace, reconciliation, and hope to a broken world. We work towards a world where people have hope and live dignified lives in peaceful communities. We believe that one day we will experience true peace.
Strategy
Towards Peace and Resilience
We strive to be in areas where our added value is greatest and seek to reach out to the most vulnerable. In the strategic plan ‘Towards Peace and Resilience’ you will find our main focus areas for the coming years. In this plan you can read who we are, what we do and how we prepare for future changes.
Strategic Priorities
Peace Nexus, Localisation and Climate Resilience
The context of humanitarian crisis is often characterised by a combination of fragility, conflict and natural disaster. In accordance with that, ZOA has chosen to bring more focus in its programmes along the lines of three interrelated programmatic themes: Peace Nexus, Localisation and Climate Resilience. These themes are mentioned in the strategic plan ‘Towards Peace and Resilience’ and elaborated in policy papers.
