ZOA is there for victims of war violence. Also in the Middle East. Together with local organisations, ZOA offers humanitarian aid to the victims of the conflicts in the area.

Huge humanitarian need due to escalation of violence

A humanitarian crisis has flared up in all its intensity in the Middle East. A year after the brutal attack by Hamas on the Israeli side, the violence in the region has now escalated to such an extent that countless people have fled. The humanitarian need is enormous; the suffering and sorrow are immense.

Hundreds of thousands of people have been displaced and are on the run in Lebanon. Tens of thousands are seeking refuge in Syria. Even many Syrian refugees in Lebanon are fleeing back to Syria, in desperation. But these refugees are also unsafe in Syria and have nothing to fall back on. The need in the border areas is therefore immense. ZOA is present to provide emergency aid together with local partners.

In Gaza, there is hardly any aid available for the victims of the violence in Gaza. The humanitarian situation there is dire. The inhabitants of Gaza are short of all basic necessities: water, food, medicine, shelter and hygiene. Where possible, ZOA provides emergency aid there through a Christian partner and the local church.

Victims

ZOA reaches out to victims of wars and natural disasters. We do this worldwide, in places where we have the opportunity to make a difference and where the current government has insufficient resources to deal with the crisis. ZOA also helps victims in the Middle East, who have often lost everything due to conflicts in the area. We are in Syria, but also in Yemen and Gaza.

These are almost always politically sensitive conflicts. ZOA does not take a position in these conflicts, but chooses the side of harmless victims of war violence. In these countries, ZOA provides food aid, water and housing. We do our utmost to ensure that aid does not end up in the hands of terrorist organisations.
