Accessible support, even in crisis
Launched in 2025 as part of the Strengthening Inclusive Partnerships for Smallholders in Rainfed Areas (SIPRA) programme, the hotline delivers pre-recorded messages in Sudanese Arabic, tailored to local crops and aligned with the agricultural cycle, from land preparation to harvest. Farmers can navigate the system using simple voice menus and leave questions through a feedback function, creating a two-way communication channel.
Because the service requires no internet, smartphone or literacy, it remains accessible even in remote and conflict-affected areas.
