Whether a crisis suddenly turns your life upside down or has held it in its grip for years - in a disaster you need someone to stand by your side. That is why ZOA has been committed to people in need for more than 50 years.

Thousands of people still experience the devastating violence of a war or natural disaster. People like Hamza (9), who grows up in Syria between the ruins of years of conflict and the recent earthquakes. Every day he and his peers have to survive.

Together with loyal donors, we have been taking immediate action in emergency situations for more than 50 years with relief and recovery aid. Like in Syria, where we help families like Hamza's with shelter, food and psychological help. But also in lesser-known disaster areas, such as Congo, Myanmar and Ethiopia.
