Within the multi-sectoral response commencing in September 2022, partners rehabilitate community-level water systems, support their ongoing maintenance and operations, and provide training on water conservation and hygiene-related topics. Medair will also re-equip for primary healthcare centers in areas of acute need, provide capacity building for health workers on topics such as mhGap (Mental Health Gap Action Programme) and nutrition, and support community health programs that raise awareness and facilitate access to services. SSSD will provide mental health and psychosocial support via mobile teams and static centers. Together, Medair, SSSD, and ZOA aim to preserve lives and relieve suffering by ensuring safe and meaningful access to basic services within communities affected by conflict and economic deterioration.

Clean water and public health services for Syrians in need
Funded by the European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (ECHO) and co-funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and Dutch Relief Alliance (DRA), Medair, SSSD and ZOA are collaborating to increase access to clean water and integrated public health services for 97,580 people in need in Aleppo, Deir-Ez-Zor, Northern Hama, and Homs governorates.
