Super typhoon Mangkhut is approaching the densely populated areas of the Philippines. ZOA closely monitors the situation.
ZOA supported the emergency response when Typhoon Haiyan struck the Philippines in 2013. This storm killed more than 6,000 people. In addition, more than 600,000 people became homeless. In the aftermath of the hurricane, the Christian Emergency Relief Cluster (a cooperation between several Dutch Christian
aid organisations) rebuilt over 2000 houses. In addition, 7,000 families received assistance to provide for their living again.
