ZOA strives for co-operation and consultation with likeminded organisations, both in the Netherlands and abroad. Co-operation enhances the quality of aid, and the effective and efficient dedication of people and use of money. We co-operate with likeminded organisations in the execution of projects and in emergency relief, fundraising and sharing knowledge.

Co-operation in programme areas:
•    In the field ZOA maintains contacts with local partnerorganisations on all levels (committees within communities, CBOs, local and district governments and institutions, NGOs and national governments and institutions). ZOA strives for co-operation with these organisations, whenever possible.
•    ZOA regularly executes projects in co-operation with UN-bodies such as FAO, UNHCR and World Food Programme.
•    ZOA is a member of the Dutch Consortium Uruzgan (DCU). In this consortium, ZOA partners with Save the Children NL, Cordaid, Healthnet TPO and DCA-vet in activities in Uruzgan, Afghanistan.
•    Together with Tearfund UK and Tear Netherlands, ZOA executes projects in Congo; and with Tearfund Belgium in another project in Congo.

Co-operation, knowledge exchange and financing in the Netherlands and on international level:

The Netherlands:
•    ZOA frequently works together with Red een Kind, Woord & Daad and Tear, especially in (fundraising for) emergency relief programmes.
•    ZOA is the lead agency of the Dutch Consortium of Rehabilitation (DCR), a consortium consisting of ZOA, Save the Children NL, CARE NL and Healthnet TPO. The consortium is funded by the Dutch government, and is implementing large programmes in five African countries for the period 2011 – 2015.
•    ZOA, together with Aqua for All, Simavi and Amref Flying Doctors, executes the ‘Walk for Water’ event, to reinforce the support base in Dutch primary schools.
•    ZOA is a member of VFI, an umbrella organisation for fundraising in The Netherlands. ZOA meets their standards.  ZOA also carries the hallmark from CBF.

International:
•    ZOA is member of EU-CORD. EU-CORD is a platform in which twenty two European Christian organisations work together on mutual interests like policy issues in Brussels regarding development.
•    ZOA is member of HAP (Humanitarian Accountability Partnership) International. The Humanitarian Accountability Partnership (HAP) International was established in 2003 to promote accountability to people affected by humanitarian crises and to acknowledge those organisations that meet the HAP Principles of Accountability.
•    ZOA is also member of the International Council of Voluntary Agencies (ICVA). ICVA is a global network of non-governmental organisations (NGOs) that advocates for effective humanitarian action in UN-led humanitarian reform discussions (UNHCR, UNOCHA, IASC).
